A higher apprenticeship in Civil Engineering is a 2 year course where you are employed by a construction or civil engineering company and attend college 1 day/week.
While on site with your employer you will be gaining skills and experience working on a construction site carrying out civil engineering tasks, developing civil engineering solutions.

You will study a variety of subject-specific modules, in addition to Literacy and Numeracy skills if required.
The programme is delivered through a blend of the following:
Training in a realistic work environment
Theory lessons in well-equipped classrooms
Work Based assessor visits
Discussions
Arddangosiadau
1:1 and group tutorial sessions
Practical sessions with excellent workshop facilities
Essential Skills
This may include a combination of Application of Number, Communication, Digital Literacy and Essential Employability Skills if required.
Due to the variety of learners who attend the part-time course; your qualifications could include some but not necessarily all of the following:
Level 3 Trade Qualifications, including diplomas and NVQs
5 GCSEs including English and Maths
Industry Experience with interview
A Level qualifications, Degree or above with the intention of changing career direction
The work-based qualification requires you to be doing the range of work with your employer that will enable you to complete it successfully.
A Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Supervision is completed in the workplace. The HNC in Civil Engineering is completed part-time at the College.
