University study is a big step. But as learner Kayleigh Barton discovered, you don’t have to go far from home to take your career to the next level thanks to our higher education courses.

Learners from our Level 3 Rock School Music Practitioners course have found inspiration in the pandemic and they’ve been busy collaborating on a lockdown album as part of their studies.

Meet Jack, who studied our BTEC Career Colleges Digital Technologies Level 3 course at Crosskeys Campus in 2018, before going on to study his Bachelor’s Degree at Cardiff Metropolitan University.

By working with local businesses, we find a variety of ways to benefit both their organisation and our students, like our recent collaboration with Loopster, an up and coming second hand clothing company.

Student volunteers working on the wards as part of the befriending service has helped to combat loneliness during the COVID pandemic this through the use of digital technology.

The Welsh language and culture of Wales is important to us at Coleg Gwent and we’re proud of our Welsh identity and roots. So, this week, we’re celebrating Welsh Language Week.
