Welcome to Coleg Gwent’s Theatre and Performing Arts department, where creativity and imagination know no bounds. We have three ultramodern performance theatres at the Torfaen Learning Zone, Blaenau Gwent Learning Zone and Crosskeys Campus, regularly used for musical theatre, drama, and dance as our performing arts students showcase their talents, using the latest lighting and sound technologies.
If you have the talent, we can inspire and help you to pursue a career in the studio, on the stage or behind the scenes.

Earlier musical theatre performances include Shrek, The Wedding Singer, Mary Poppins, 9 to 5, Dracula Spectacular, Sweet Charity, Spring Awakening, Starlight Express and Made in Dagenham.
Earlier plays include West, Pavilion, Happy Meal, Shakespeare’s Roman Plays, James and the Giant Peach and Peter Pan.
In addition, we offer industry workshops in collaboration with some of the most highly regarded theatre schools in the UK, such as Guildford School of Acting, Arts Ed and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. These workshops are aimed at helping young actors gain the skills and experience they need to succeed in the industry.
Due to high demand, we will be offering our third Summer School for all Y11 – 13 students, with guest workshops from our alumni professionals, Gareth David Lloyd (actor) and Mitchell Harper (Choreographer). This is a perfect introduction to meet staff and students for the forthcoming academic year.
We are very lucky to have a partnership with the Riverfront Theatre in Newport and pupils regularly experience cutting-edge live theatre.
Trips further afield include an annual Mediterranean cruise, several London Theatre performances, the Watermill Theatre, and Theatre Royal.
Come join our vibrant community of artists and performers and discover all that our college has to offer.
