We have many courses available for learners of English as a second language
Whether you want to improve your English skills for work and study, or you need to improve your spoken and written communication, we have an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) course to suit you. These range from pre-entry and beginner level to Level 2, and they can be studied on a full-time or part-time basis.
Full time study
If you want to develop your English language skills in the shortest time possible, then a full-time course is best for you. Our full-time courses develop all the English modes of listening, speaking, reading and writing, as well as including employability skills and maths skills to support your progression to further study or employment.
All our full-time courses are timetabled over four days and start in September. You’ll be assessed through a portfolio of evidence and exams.
Part time study
Our part-time English Language courses suit people who are combining studying English with employment or family commitments. We offer a large range of part-time courses, from ones which are spread over two days to ones running for just four hours a week, so you’ll find one that works for you. Most part-time courses focus on either speaking and listening or writing skills.
There are opportunities to join a part time course at several points in the year, including in September and January. You’ll be assessed in a variety of ways, such as examinations or a portfolio of evidence.
