Whether you’re interested in sports coaching, events management or perhaps you’ve got a passion to be a paramedic, a marine or a fire fighter?  Our courses in sports, travel and public services will help you make the grade!

Made for sporting success? Whether you’re interested in fitness, coaching, personal training, management, exercise, science, massage or therapy, we have courses that’ll prepare you for these exciting professions. Your future could be working in a health club, being an outdoor activities instructor or working in the leisure industry opening a wide range of opportunities to you both near and far.

We encourage participation in a range of sports at all campuses, including rugby, football, netball, basketball, hockey and more. At Torfaen Learning Zone, Sport is offered in partnership with Cwmbran Stadium, while Crosskeys Campus is home to the Newport Gwent Dragons Junior Academy where players gain qualifications alongside their rugby training. The Girls’ Dragon Academy is offered at Blaenau Gwent Learning Zone in collaboration with Crosskeys Campus, with transport provided between sites and a flexible timetable so the Academy can be fully attended. Players in our college rugby team have the opportunity to compete at Rosslyn Park 7’s in London, and our sports teams play in a range of other leagues too.

As a Sports learner you’ll have access to local leisure centres, gyms, trampoline parks, indoor climbing centres and Bike Park Wales for practical activities, and our talented students also regularly enter AoC (Association of Colleges) championships with the support of our staff to help you achieve success at competition level.

The whole world is out there, waiting for you. The Travel and Tourism industry is one of the most exciting and vibrant in the world. Just some of the careers in Travel & Tourism include; cabin crew, tourism promotion, events management, or a travel agent, but the list goes on and you can take your career anywhere you fancy.

Whether you’re taking on the world as an air steward, holiday rep or helping others realise their travel dreams, you can take it all the way to management level; just start your journey with us.

All of our learners can apply for Erasmus funding and visit a European country as part of their studies to gain first-hand experience too!

Perhaps you’ve got a passion to be a paramedic, have dreamed of being a marine or fancy being a firefighter.  Our public services courses will help you make the grade.  Public Services are at the very heart of our community, and those who pursue a career within one of these uniformed or non-uniformed services will play a fulfilling and vital role in society.

Sorry, there aren't any courses in this area at the moment. Listings are continually updated, so please keep checking back!

My long term goal is to join the police force so my school careers adviser recommended Coleg Gwent. College is a lot more free & tutors support with anything you need.
