Coleg Gwent student racing in 10k race for Whizz-Kidz

Twenty-two-year-old Ayesha Khan, who has Spina Biffida and Hydrocephalus meaning she is paralysed from the waist down, takes on the ABP Newport 10k race in her wheelchair on 29th April; to raise money and awareness for Whizz-Kidz. Whizz-Kidz are an organisation who work to transform lives of young disabled people in the UK by providing them with essential mobility equipment and the skills they need to lead an active childhood.

Ayesha Khan said “I have chosen to do this in aid of Whizz-Kidz because they are an organisation which I am very close to, if it wasn’t for their encouragement and support, I wouldn’t be where I am today”. She first got involved with Whizz-Kidz as an ambassador for their Cardiff club in 2010, then progressing on to becoming a young leader and Kidz Board Representative for Wales. She has gone on to make lots of friends at Coleg Gwent, Crosskeys Campus, where she is currently studying a Business and Admin course.
