Course content
This course is delivered by virtual classroom. Virtual classrooms are equivalent to face-to-face classroom courses, but delivered in an online environment.
Course Duration: 5 Days
Our Lean Six Sigma Green Belt course is designed to deepen your understanding of process improvement by equipping you with the tools and techniques needed to lead successful projects using the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control) methodology.
In the Define phase, you will learn to clearly articulate the problem statement, map out processes using SIPOC diagrams, and capture the Voice of the Customer to ensure projects align with business needs. You’ll select projects strategically, develop a project charter, and master essential planning and communication tools to engage stakeholders effectively.
During the Measure phase, the focus shifts to data collection. You’ll understand the importance of quality data, identify critical-to-quality factors, and assess the cost of poor quality. You will apply process mapping, design data collection plans, and evaluate measurement systems through Gauge R&R studies. Statistical tools like histograms, run charts, control charts, and scatter plots will help you quantify process performance and capability.
The Analyse phase teaches you how to uncover root causes of problems using proven techniques such as Ishikawa (fishbone) diagrams and the 5 Whys analysis. You’ll gain skills in consensus decision-making and validate root causes through graphical tools including box plots, correlation, regression, and hypothesis testing to make data-driven decisions.
In the Improve phase, you will explore solution development through brainstorming, apply decision-making matrices like Pugh and Force Field Analysis, and evaluate potential improvements with cost-benefit analysis and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). You’ll also learn how to pilot solutions to ensure they deliver desired results.
Finally, the Control phase focuses on sustaining improvements. You will establish standard operating procedures, create control plans, and use control charts to monitor ongoing performance. Training in new methods and capturing lessons learned will help maintain gains and drive continuous improvement.
Upon successful completion, you’ll earn a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification, accredited by the Council for Six Sigma Certification (CSSC) — a globally recognised credential that proves your understanding of Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
