Course content
This course is endorsed as a technical certificate and is designed to satisfy the theory component of the VCQ 2 in Motorcycle Maintenance & Repair. It also satisfies the requirements of the Apprenticeship framework.
There are 11 modules to complete, which include all the modules at Level 1 plus greater depth units. At least half of the course involves practical work on motorcycles.
You’ll be assessed via coursework, written tests and practical tasks and upon completion you’ll achieve:
- Level 2 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (Motorcycle)
Entry Requirements
To enter this course, you'll need the Level 1 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (Motorcycle).
Full commitment to attendance is required, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You should have a strong desire to work in the motor vehicle industry, abide by the college ethos and be willing to participate in improving your level of academic subjects. Mature learners will be considered on an individual basis based upon skills and experience.
Additional information
Once you have completed this course you will be able to go on to a Level 3 Diploma Service & Repair Motorcycles.
You’ll need to purchase appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, such as boots and overalls, the cost of which is approximately £40.00. You’ll also need to supply your own stationery and folders.
