Course content
Microblading is a form of semi-permanent make-up used on eyebrows by inserting coloured pigment into the skin to create fine lines to design a clients brow shape.
During the course you will cover topics such as:
- Anatomy and Physiology
- Health and Safety
- Legislation
- Consultation process
- Skin tones and types
- Hair stroke brow creation
- Colour theory
- Practical application
- Aftercare
You will practice on fake skin in the first instance but you will be required to provide 6 clients as case studies and for assessment during your course.
Assessment is through the compilation of a portfolio of evidence, case studies and examinations.
Classes are small so that your tutor can provide more intense, one to one tuition.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course and you do not need to have any beauty experience or qualifications. You must be aged 18 and over.
Additional information
Please note that from Summer 2024, local authorities require that you complete mandatory training to obtain registration to practice Microblading. The mandatory, one day training course in Infection Prevention Control will be available to you at Coleg Gwent.
You will be required to wear a clinic uniform that you can purchase from your local hair and beauty suppliers or through the college.
The course fees are displayed at the top of this page. They include tuition, registration and a full kit with colour pigments.
Tuition fees are due at the time of booking/enrolment. If required, this can be by direct debit, over five instalments.
If your employer is funding your course, confirmation of this in writing will be required so that the college can arrange to invoice them.
Commercial and Business Advantages
Microblading treatments can vary in cost from £50 - £250 with an average cost of £150. You will also charge for touch ups after 6-8 weeks and annually.

After booking your course you have 14 days to change your mind and request a full refund. You can still request a refund after this date, but this will only be given if you meet the criteria from the college fee policy.
If your chosen course starts within 14 days of you booking your place, then the 14 day refund policy does not apply and any refund will be subject to the college fee policy.
All courses may be subject to change and cancelled if deemed not viable to run.
