Living in South East Wales

Newport, Wales’s newest city and closest to all our campuses, offers a cultural, social and leisure scene to rival any other UK city.  The Riverfront theatre offers a jam-packed arts programme and with sporting attractions such as the Wales National Velodrome, Newport Gwent Dragons and Celtic Manor Golf Resort (host of the Ryder Cup in 2012), Newport’s certainly on the international map.

Friars Walk shopping centre and leisure complex offers a range of high street brands, restaurant chains and another multiplex cinema.

The surrounding area has a wealth of heritage attractions including Roman Caerleon – amphitheatre, baths, barracks and National Roman Legion Museum, Tredegar House, Newport Transporter Bridge, Tintern Abbey and Chepstow Castle to name just a few.

The Welsh capital city, Cardiff, is just a 15 minute train journey from Newport.  It’s home to the famous Millennium Stadium which hosts Welsh rugby matches and events, the Wales Millennium Centre theatre and opera house in Cardiff Bay and the fashionable St David’s Shopping Centre.
