The course will allow you to renew your current ACS gas qualifications, which is needed every 5 years.
Upon completion of your re-assessments, you will be able to undertake assessments in new units which will extend your scope of work and enable you to further your career in the gas industry.
This course is available as part of a Personal Learning Account (PLA). PLA is an initiative from the Welsh Government which offers people the chance to access free, part-time courses with flexible and convenient learning that fits around their existing lifestyle (subject to eligibility).
This course is for...
... anyone aged 19+, living in Wales, in employment and earning less than £29,534 a year
... taking the next step in your career in the gas industry
... those wanting to continue to be a registered Gas Installer
You will carry out assessments relating to the range of work you currently do, after this you can undertake training and assessments in new areas of work.
These re-assessments are required if you wish to continue to be a registered gas installer and if you wish to further your career in the industry.
Upon completion of your re-assessments, you will be issued new certificates from the awarding body, including any new units undertaken. These will be valid for five years and your details will be passed onto GasSafe.
You will need to already hold an ACS gas certificate in the units you wish to sit (Reassessment).
You will need to hold a valid, in date, ACS gas certificate in order to complete new units and be able to evidence training in the new units. (These assessments can be sat at the same time as your reassessments, providing you have carried out training prior to this).
This evidence will need to be given to the assessment centre before you can sit any assessments.
Course dates and location will be discussed during the application.
