NOCN_Cskills Unit in Assessing Dwellings for Retrofit Level 5

In a nutshell

The aim of this unit is to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding of the assessment of dwellings for retrofit which will include the energy survey and assessment process, methods for assessing energy efficiency and the factors that affect energy performance. Learners will understand the role of a Retrofit Assessor.

Individuals currently employed by Tata Steel UK (sites in Wales) OR its wider Welsh supply chain (including at risk of redundancy), aged 19+, living in Wales.

Course content

The main topics covered by this Unit are:

1. Understanding the principles of assessing the energy performance of dwellings
2. Understanding the methods of assessing the energy efficiency of dwellings
3. Understanding the additional information to be included in an assessment of a dwelling for retrofit

Assessment of this Unit will be through the completion of a mandatory end of qualification knowledge test.

Entry Requirements

You will be assessed based upon your current knowledge, any questions and professional discussions can be done in your own time.

To undertake this course, you will need to have prior knowledge and experience of the chosen skill/pathway.

Candidates must have basic level of literacy, be in employment and have access to an observable working situation. Basic IT skills may be required but aren't essential.
