This course is designed to develop core leadership skills for those already in, or looking to take on, a leadership role. It’s delivered by experienced tutors who have themselves held management positions, and training is practical, participative and linked back to the workplace.

Course content
This course gives learners the foundations for becoming more effective and confident in their leadership role. It covers two units from the Level 2 qualification:
- Understanding effective working teams – to develop skills in making sure teams work effectively.
- Planning and monitoring work – to develop understanding and ability to plan and monitor the work of the team effectively and efficiently.
Learners will also have trainer-led workshops for each unit and will produce a written assignment.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
Additional information
Once learners have successfully completed the assessments they’ll be awarded an Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) Level 2 Award in Leadership & Team Skills.
They can progress to the ILM Level 2 Certificate in Leadership & Team Skills by adding further units to the ones already achieved, or may want to undertake the ILM Level 2 (NVQ) Diploma in Team Leading or progress to the ILM Level 3 Award in Leadership & Management.
