The objective of the course is to provide a supportive and friendly environment for you to develop your potential and to prepare you for university level study, with many past students going on to gain degrees and other awards.
You will study a variety of units with a focus on Modern Policing, Police Powers, Perspective on Policing, Criminology, Criminal Law, Sources of Law, Understanding Crime Scenes, Criminal Psychology, Equality and Diversity, Multi-Disciplinary Teams, Fitness, Resilience and Mental Wellbeing as well as Professional Behaviours. You will also study key skill units in communication and numeracy and complete an investigative project.
You will be continually assessed and there is an expectation that you will continue your studies and coursework in your own time. All assignments must be successfully completed in order to achieve the Agored Cymru Access to Policing Diploma.
