Coleg Gwent’s Apprenticeship programme provides you with top quality work-based training – the opportunity to earn a real wage as you learn and gain practical skills in the workplace.
Apprenticeships are open to all age groups above 16 years-old, whether you are just leaving school, have been working for years or are seeking to start a new career. As employees, apprentices earn a wage and work alongside experienced staff to gain job-specific skills that employers want.
Typically, apprentices will attend college one day a week, for the delivery of the Technical Certificate and Essential Skills qualifications, known as off-the-job training. As an employee, you will spend the rest of the week with your employer learning on-the-job, building up knowledge and skills and gaining the qualifications needed to successfully achieve the full framework.
