Celebrating outstanding achievements at our annual Learner Awards

The awards reflected the diverse experiences, talents and successes of individuals from across the Coleg Gwent community.

Learners from across Coleg Gwent were recognised for their achievements at this year’s Learner Awards Ceremony.

On Thursday 18 June, we welcomed learners, staff, families and invited guests to ICC Wales to celebrate the success, resilience and dedication demonstrated across the college community.

The awards recognised individuals who demonstrated outstanding commitment to their studies, overcame challenges, achieved personal goals and made a positive contribution to college life.

Nominated by staff, learners were celebrated for a wide range of achievements both inside and outside the classroom. The awards reflected the diverse experiences, talents and successes of individuals from across the Coleg Gwent community.

There were 352 nominations this year, showcasing the breadth of talent across all campuses. Following careful consideration,  118 individuals were selected to receive Learner Achievement Awards across the college’s three faculties.

Sanaa Rstam,  Brody Brooks and Sky Buckwell received the Assistant Principal Award in recognition of the progress made during their studies. Lauren Cahalane was presented with the Chair’s Award for overcoming adversity, while Inshal Raza received the Principal’s Award for outstanding performance.

Nikki Gamlin, Principal of Coleg Gwent, said:

“The Learner Awards are one of the highlights of the academic year, giving us the opportunity to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our learners.

Behind every nomination is a story of determination, resilience and personal growth. We are incredibly proud of all those who were nominated and delighted to recognise this year’s award winners.

Their achievements demonstrate the transformative power of education and the positive impact they make within the college and their wider communities. Congratulations to everyone recognised at this year’s awards.”
