On completing the AAT Level 4 Diploma for Professional Accounting Technicians, you will have four distinct pathways available to further your career and professional development:
- Progress to Chartered Status
Your AAT Level 4 qualification provides valuable exemptions with leading chartered bodies, helping you fast-track your journey to becoming a fully qualified accountant:

- ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants): Exemptions from the first three papers, allowing direct entry to the Applied Skills level
- CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants): Exemption from the Certificate in Business Accounting, enabling entry at Operational level
- ICAEW (ACA): Credits towards the Certificate level, ideal for those interested in audit or formal training contracts
- Enter the Job Market
With a Level 4 qualification, you can progress beyond entry-level roles into more senior positions within finance and accounting. Typical roles include:

- Become a Full AAT Member (MAAT)
You will be eligible to apply for full AAT membership and use the designation MAAT after your name.

If you wish to continue your academic studies, many universities recognise AAT Level 4 as equivalent to the first year of an Accounting and Finance degree, allowing you to enter directly into the second year.

You will need to have successfully completed AAT Level 3.
