If you’re keen to pursue a career in the beauty industry, this course will teach you how to apply individual permanent lashes, as well as giving you a sound knowledge of health and safety in a salon environment and promoting client care and communication.

The VTCT Level 3 Award in Lash Extensions has been specifically designed to develop your skills in beauty therapy to a high level, so you can perform your own salon services. This qualification is approved and supported by the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA), the standard setting body for hair, beauty, nails and spa qualifications.
You’ll need to be self-motivated, hardworking, have a friendly personality and a high level of personal presentation, and be committed to full attendance and punctuality for all sessions. You’ll be expected to work on realistic clients in a commercial environment and also be responsible for developing your own ‘client base’.
You’ll be assessed using a combination of observed work, witness statements, audio-visual media, written and oral questions, assignments and case studies.
After this course, you could progress to other VTCT qualifications, or work in the industry carrying out eyelash extensions. You could enrol on other related beauty courses or find an eyelash technician job.

When you have successfully completed the qualification, you will may wish to progress to other VTCT qualifications such as Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy/ Beauty Therapy Make-Up/ Beauty Therapy Massage
Alternatively, you may be interested in other qualifications at Level 2 such as Level 2 Award in the Art of Photographic Make-Up/ Award in Eyelash Perming.
This qualification may lead directly into employment in the beauty therapy industry as a junior beauty therapist in a salon or self-employment as a beauty therapist.
To enter this course, you must be aged 19 or over, with an interest in, or already working in, the beauty industry.
The dress code for our salon is:
- Tunic with trousers and black shoes
- Hair neatly tied back off the face
- Nail extensions and varnish must not be worn
- No piercings – only a wedding ring can be worn
You’ll be expected to wear your beauty industry uniform or appropriate clothing and to buy a tinting kit as a condition of your place on the course, at a cost of around £80 to £100.
