Course Overview
The VTCT (ITEC) Level 5 Award in Skin Peeling Treatments is an advanced therapy qualification aimed at Level 4 qualified practitioners aged 18 and over, who wish to add this therapy to their repertoire of treatment offerings. The primary purpose of this qualification is to prepare learners for employment in the advanced aesthetic industry providing skin needling techniques.
- those who hold a Level 4 Skin Peeling qualification.
- those who are aged 18 and over.
Chemical peels, or skin peels, harness the power of naturally occurring acids and active ingredients, clinically proven to deeply exfoliate the skin, stimulate collagen production, and new cell growth and turnover, for more radiant, younger-looking skin. A natural blend of acids and enzymes, skin peels exfoliate your skin and kick-start cell turnover; this means removing the dead cells from the top layer and encouraging new cell growth, revealing the newer, smoother skin beneath. Peels also stimulate collagen and elastin production to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
On this advanced course you will deepen your understanding of the various chemical peels and their use, alongside the skills to perform superficial peels to the mid-epidermis in Fitzpatrick type 1-6. Additionally, you will develop the knowledge required to provide pre and post-treatment advice and post care as well as recognising potential complications or adverse reactions, to ensure the client receives the full benefit of the treatment and to maximise results.
The course includes:
- Safety considerations
- Protocols and guidelines
- Product analysis
- Consultation, planning and preparation
- Application of superficial skin peeling treatments
Assessment is through an assignment, practical exam and clinical case studies and you will be awarded the VTCT (ITEC) Level 5 Award in Skin Peeling.
