Course Overview

This course suits learners from a wide range of backgrounds, including business professionals, managers, project teams, IT staff, and anyone interested in how AI is used in modern organisations.

The course is designed for professionals who want to move beyond a basic awareness of AI, it explores how artificial intelligence technologies are transforming industries, improving decision-making and creating new opportunities for innovation.

2 days of Instructor-led Virtual learning followed by an examination.

The course provides a structured introduction to the principles, applications and implications of artificial intelligence within modern organisations. Learners will gain an understanding of key AI concepts, including machine learning, intelligent agents, neural networks, data-driven decision-making and the practical application of AI within business environments. The course also examines the ethical, legal and governance considerations associated with artificial intelligence, helping organisations adopt AI responsibly while managing risk and maintaining trust. Through practical examples and real-world case studies, delegates will develop an appreciation of both the opportunities and challenges presented by AI technologies. In addition to building a strong understanding of artificial intelligence, the course prepares learners for the BCS Foundation Certificate in Artificial Intelligence examination.

No prior experience of artificial intelligence is required. A basic understanding of general IT concepts would be beneficial but is not essential.

This course is available as part of a Personal Learning Account (PLA). PLA is an initiative from the Welsh Government which offers people the chance to access free, part-time courses with flexible and convenient learning that fits around their existing lifestyle (subject to eligibility).
