Course Overview
These qualifications are for people working in or looking to work in assessment and internal quality assurance. These qualifications are open to people carrying out assessments and quality assurance in most learning environments including FE, Adult Continuing Learning, Employers and Third Sector.
For practitioners who conduct internal quality assurance of the assessment process from within a centre or organisation, by sample planning, monitoring and advising on the practice of assessors.
Learners can expect to cover a range of theories, policies and procedures designed to ensure sound quality assurance of assessment. Units include:
• Understanding the Principles and Practices of Internally Assuring the Quality of Assessment
• Internally Assure the Quality of Assessment
Learners should already have an assessor qualification and the qualification will be partly judged on observed assessments for two real assessors on two occasions in a real training or work environment against approved standards/criteria so learners must work in an environment/setting where that is possible.
This qualification is delivered in the workplace, not on campus for individuals to attend. Delivery dates are agreed in advance with you and your employer.
Learners will undertake one theory unit which looks at their knowledge of the principles and practices of internally assuring the quality of assessment and one practical unit which covers how well they assure the quality of assessment. This usually requires four meetings with your assessor and may take 3 to 6 months to complete (it is self-paced). A formal quote can be issued once we understand your training need but as a guide, we charge £850 per person.
