Facilities include a dedicated theatre space, drama studio, dance studio and rehearsal space. Studies include:
As part of the course you will study:
- The performing arts industry
- Devising, scripting and performing plays
- Acting
- Movement
- Singing
- Musical Theatre
You’ll be continually assessed, mostly through practical assignments, with written work underpinning the skills being developed as an acting student. Your work will be externally moderated. On completion, you’ll achieve:
- Level 2 Performing Arts
- Skills Activities
- Maths and English
- Other relevant qualifications to enhance your skill set
To qualify for the course, you’ll need a minimum of 4 GCSEs, Grade D or above, to include either Maths/Maths Numeracy or English/Welsh First Language, or an appropriate Level 1 Diploma qualification in the relevant vocational area to include either GCSE Maths/Maths Numeracy or English/Welsh First Language.
Full commitment to attendance is required, as well as respect for others, enthusiasm for the subject, self-motivation, creative ability and a desire to succeed. You should have an interest in drama and some basic performance experience.
On successful completion at Merit Level of the Level 2 Diploma, you can apply for the Level 3 Extended Diploma Performing Arts or other Level 3 study.

As part of the entry requirements you will be expected to attend and participate in a taster session. A workshop audition will also form part of this taster experience.
