Course Overview
The VTCT (ITEC) Level 4 Award in Radio Frequency is an advanced therapy qualification aimed at level 3 qualified practitioners aged 18 and over, who wish to add this therapy to their repertoire of treatment offerings. The primary purpose of this qualification is to prepare learners for employment in the advanced aesthetic industry providing radio frequency techniques.

- those who hold a Level 3 Beauty Therapy qualification or the Level 3 Certificate in Access to Aesthetic Therapies
- those who are aged 18 and over.
Radio frequency is one of the safest non-invasive technologies for anti-ageing available in the industry. Radio frequency is a tried and tested technology that has been around for many years and it is suitable for all skin types and body conditions. Radio frequency feels similar to a warm massage during treatment and works to stimulate collagen production and reduce laxity by tightening your skin, reduces fat and improves tone.
The course includes:

- Treatment Planning for face and body
- Equipment knowledge
- Practical Treatment Application
- Pre and post treatment advice
- Anatomy, physiology and pathology
Assessment is through practical and theory examinations and clinical case studies and you will be awarded the VTCT Level 4 Award in Radio Frequency.
On completion of this course you can progress onto other Level 4 and 5 courses including:
- Level 4 Award in Skin Peeling
- Level 5 Award in Radio Frequency Microneedling
- Level 4 Award in Microblading Eyebrows
- Level 4 Award in Dermaplaning
- Level 4 Award in Skin Needling
You will need to hold a Level 3 Beauty Therapy qualification or Level 3 Certificate in Access to Aesthetics and be aged 18 or over.
You will be required to wear a clinic uniform and suitable footwear.
The course fees include tuition and registration fees. Tuition fees are due at the time of booking/enrolment. If required, this can be by direct debit, over five instalments.If your employer is funding your course, confirmation of this in writing will be required so that the college can arrange to invoice them.
It is essential that you are able to provide 4 – 6 clients as case studies for your assessments.

Radio Frequency treatment costs can vary between £120 – £160 for facial skin tightening and £120 – £350 for body contouring.
