ILM Award in Leadership and Management Level 3

In a nutshell

A nationally-recognised qualification, this is designed primarily to develop learner's core management skills with training that’s practical, participative and linked back to the workplace. Courses will be taught by experienced tutors who have themselves held management positions.

This course is for...

…anyone who has management responsibilities but no formal training, and is serious about developing their abilities.

…practising team leaders looking to move up to the next level of management.

…managers who need to lead people through organisational change, budget cuts or other pressures.

Course content

Tutors on the course will explore the knowledge, skills and attitudes required for effective leadership and management, while learners undertake assessments to ensure that learning is transferred back into the workplace. At the end of this course, learners will have:

• Gained a range of key management skills and put them into practice
• Built their leadership capabilities – and be able to motivate and engage teams and manage relationships confidently
• Become a more effective and confident first-line manager
• An understanding of how to motivate to improve performance

On successful completion, learners will be awarded an Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) Level 3 Award in Leadership & Management.

There are no formal entry requirements.

Additional information

Following this course learners could progress to the ILM Level 5 Award in Leadership & Management Skills or ILM Level 3, 5 or 7 NVQ Diploma in Management.
