How to apply for A Levels in 5 easy steps

How to apply for A Levels in 5 easy steps

Step 1

Apply Online

A Levels are a two-year programme: Year 1 is the AS Level, and Year 2 completes the A Level. You’ll need to select a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 4 subjects, all available at the same campus.

Once you’ve found a subject, click Apply and complete the five-step application form. Use your personal email so we can keep in touch with important updates.  Fill in all sections, including your predicted or achieved GCSE grades, then hit submit when you’re done.

On the last page, select all the AS subjects you are interested in studying, up to a maximum of 4, and then press submit to complete your application.

Conditional Offers

Once we’ve reviewed your application, we’ll email you a conditional offer (as long as your predicted grades meet the course requirements). Details will be sent to your email, with instructions on how you can accept the offer.

If your grades don’t quite match up with the course entry criteria or you’re unable to provide any predicted grade information, someone from our team will get in touch to chat through your options.

Log in to CG Portal and follow the instructions in your offer email to accept your place.

Step 4

Attend Enrolment

Enrolment usually happens during the last two weeks of August. We’ll email you an invitation with your time slot — try to come at your given time to avoid delays.

Bring your actual exam results so we can confirm you meet the entry criteria for your chosen course. You’ll also meet tutors, learn about your first classes, and find out how to access your timetable. It’s also a great opportunity to get familiar with the campus and your fellow learners, before you start college in September.

RETURNING AND PROGRESSING LEARNERS

If you’re a returning learner but moving into a different subject area, enrolment will take place in August. Nearer the time you’ll receive an e-mail inviting you into college, which will give you an opportunity to get familiar with your new subject area before you start in September.

If you’re a returning learner but continuing in the same subject area for A2, you’ll be conditionally enrolled in June.

If you have any questions, please speak to your Personal Tutor or the CG Support Team.

Step 5

Start College

College starts in early September. You’ll get an email to your college email address with your start date and details on how to view your timetable through the CG Connect app.

Timetables can take a few days after enrolment to be added to the CG Connect App and they can also change right up until the start of the new term. So please allow time for this and keep checking the CG Connect App for updates.
