Living in SE Wales

For a cultural, social and leisure scene, Newport – the closest to all our campuses – rivals almost any other UK city. You’ll find its Riverfront Theatre has a packed arts programme, while sporting attractions include the Wales National Velodrome, Newport Gwent Dragons and Celtic Manor Golf Resort. The Friars Walk complex offers great shopping, restaurants and a multiplex cinema, and there’s a wealth of heritage attractions nearby – such as Roman Caerleon, which boasts an amphitheatre, baths and barracks. There’s also neighbouring National Roman Legion Museum, Tredegar House, Newport Transporter Bridge, Tintern Abbey and Chepstow Castle.

Welsh capital Cardiff is just a 15-minute train journey away, where you can enjoy international rugby matches at the Millennium Stadium, world-class performances at the Wales Millennium Centre theatre and opera house in Cardiff Bay, and keep up with the latest fashions at St David’s Shopping Centre.
