Course Overview

If you’re looking to gain first-class project management skills or want to improve your chances of becoming employed as a professional project manager, obtaining a PRINCE2 qualification is essential as it is the world’s most practiced method for Project Management.

PRINCE2 qualifications are beneficial for both individuals and organisations. As an individual, such qualifications will improve your overall careers prospects and employability, and organisations that implement the PRINCE2 methodology have the advantage of being able to consistently facilitate successful projects, with their employees making use of a common language and defined processes.

This course is delivered by virtual classroom. Virtual classrooms are equivalent to face-to-face classroom courses, but delivered in an online environment.

To start studying the PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification, you will need to have passed either the PRINCE2 Foundation qualification (6th Edition or 7th Edition), or one of the following:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
  • IPMA Level A, B, C, or D

You will need to have access to a computer with a camera and microphone and WI-FI.

This course is available as part of a Personal Learning Account (PLA). PLA is an initiative from the Welsh Government which offers people the chance to access free, part-time courses with flexible and convenient learning that fits around their existing lifestyle (subject to eligibility).

The PLA programme intends to provide quality career advice and guidance to participants before, during and after their learning.

Prior to being enrolled onto your PLA funded course, an individual learning plan will be discussed with you to ensure that the right learning has been considered.

This will include a general discussion on the following topics:

  • formal education or qualifications in related fields
  • prior experience within the industry or field
  • career aspirations
  • dedication of time required
