Course Overview

This course provides you with professional status in counselling, and adds to your existing skills and knowledge to develop a wider understanding of the field, with emphasis on experience through a placement.

The course is delivered over 2 years.

…anyone whose work might involve counselling, such as nursing, teaching, social or voluntary work, the police or armed forces.

This advanced qualification will enable you work within an ethical framework and develop an understanding of the legal and ethical requirements of counselling. You’ll be expected to make appropriate use of counselling supervision of 100 hours and evaluate your own work – this placement is essential to your personal and professional development.
On successful completion of the course, you can progress on to the Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling or professional qualifications that will enable you to work as a counselling practitioner.

You’ll need to have completed a Level 3 AIM Counselling qualification.
Suitability for study will be considered by interview process.

As part of the course, you’ll need to undertake a minimum of 100 hours of supervised counselling practice. All students are also required to undertake clinical supervision as part of their placement, this may need to be self-funded depending on the placement.
Your Placement may require you to complete a DBS check at your own cost.
Further information will be provided at interview stage.
Payment of the £910.00 fee is split over 2 years as follows: Year 1: Sept 25 Registration £165.00 Tuition £515.00 Payment due in Year 1 (Sept 25) – £680.00. Year 2: Sept 26 Tuition £230.00 Payment due in Year 2 (Sept 26) – £230.00
