Course Overview

This course offers an in-depth and dynamic insight into the world of motorcycle maintenance and repair. You will need to have a keen interest in motorcycles and be good at problem solving. You will need a desire to work in the motor vehicle industry or to maintain your own bikes and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

… You have a keen interest in motorcycles

… You’re a good problem-solver and hard-worker

This course is endorsed as a technical certificate and is designed to satisfy the theory component of the VCQ 2 in Motorcycle Maintenance and Repair. It also satisfies the requirements of the apprenticeship framework.

All of the 11 module that make up the course contain a practical element meaning at least half of the course involves practical work on motorcycles.

You’ll be assessed via coursework, written tests and practical tasks and upon completion you’ll achieve: Level 2 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (Motorcycle)

To enter this course, you’ll need a C grade in GCSE Maths and English, Level 1 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent experience in basic motorcycle maintenance.

Mature learners will be considered on an individual basis based upon skills and experience.

Once you have completed this course you will be able to go on to a Level 3 Diploma Service and Repair Motorcycles.

You’ll need to purchase appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, such as boots and overalls, the cost of which is approximately £40.00. You’ll also need to supply your own stationery and folders.
