Course Overview
If you’re keen to develop skills to maintain your own car or other vehicles this course is a great starting point. You’ll learn the basic principles of motor vehicles in a relaxed and friendly workshop environment.

… anyone who wants to restore cars as a hobby or develop skills for a new career.
You’ll need to be enthusiastic and have a keen interest in motor vehicles. You’ll have the opportunity to learn about all the systems that make up classic and modern motor vehicles including:
• Braking systems
• Suspension systems
• Fuel systems
• Tyres
• Transmission systems
• Air conditioning systems
• Electrical systems inc ABS & SRS
• Servicing
• Ignition systems
• Valeting and vehicle care
• Exhausts
• Engine management systems
• Vehicle modifications
You will be assessed through ongoing practical assessments and you’ll receive a college certificate on completion, after which you could move on to a full time or part time course at Entry Level or Level 1.
You’ll need to be enthusiastic and have a keen interest in motor vehicles.
You could move on to a full time or part-time course at Entry Level or Level 1
There are no formal requirements for this course.
During this course, you’ll need suitable Personal Protective Equipment such as boots and overalls.
