Course Overview
This course allows you the opportunity to experiment with and explore artists’ materials, techniques and processes.
…beginners or experienced creatives with a keen interest in expanding their own creativity.
This course is delivered by a weekly evening class and each week you will have the opportunity to widen your experiences within the realm of art and design. The course is experimental, adapting to your own pursuit of creative making.
We can explore different artists’ techniques and processes such as observation drawing, collage and stenciling, lettering, marbling, woodcut and press printing.
We can participate in a series of experimental workshops – e.g. drawing, painting, clay, textiles or creative metalwork craft.
By the end of this 10-week course, you should feel confident and be able to use the techniques learnt during the course to further your interest in art and design.
There are no formal requirements to study this course.
This course is suitable for complete beginners and those with some experience with traditional art and creating making.

Within the School of Creative Studies, we also offer a part-time evening course in Adobe Photoshop.
