Course Overview

Whether you own a cat or dog or simply want to work with them, this course covers all the aspects of basic first aid you need to know.

…pet owners

…anyone owning a cattery, kennels or rehoming organisation

…people working with cats and dogs in any capacity.

This is a two-hour course covering all aspects of basic First Aid for cats and dogs, including assembling an appropriate first aid kit, bandaging, dealing with fractured limbs, poisonings, emergency CPR and chest compressions, and a variety of other necessary First Aid information.

You’ll be expected to participate in simulated scenarios, and on completion you’ll receive a Coleg Gwent certificate.

There is no formal assessment.

We offer another course for cattery and kennel owners – Diseases, Disinfection and Gold Standard Care in Catteries and Kennels.

No formal entry requirements are needed for this course, just a keen interest in cats and dogs.

The cost of this course is £20.

The course is taught by one of our qualified vet nurses.
