Course Overview
If you’re responsible for the health and safety of everyone on-site, this course could prove invaluable. It gives you guidance on making sure all operations are carried out in accordance with current law, and looks at accountability for health, safety and welfare of employees working on site.

This 5-day course covers the following topics:
- The Health and Safety at Work Act
- Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015
- Site set-up
- Risk assessments and method statements
- Working at heights
- Scaffolding
- Electricity
- Excavations
- Demolition
- Working in confined spaces
- Recent changes in accepted working practice
You’ll be assessed on your participation throughout the course, together with a 25-question exam including multiple choice questions and short written answers. On successful completion, you’ll receive a certificate valid for 5 years.
There are no formal entry requirements.
This course is also available as part of a Personal Learning Account (PLA). PLA is an initiative from the Welsh Government which offers people the chance to access free, part-time courses with flexible and convenient learning that fits around their existing lifestyle (subject to eligibility).
