Course content
The two units studied as part of this course include:
- Becoming an effective leader - this unit will develop knowledge and understanding of effective leadership as required by a practising or potential middle manager. Candidates will be able to recognise key responsibilities of the leadership role and evaluate their own ability to lead others.
- Leading innovation and change - this unit will look at the need to develop innovation and change in management. Candidates will be able to propose innovative solutions to improve organisational performance and will be able to lead and manage change within an organisation.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements but participants will normally be either practising or aspiring middle managers with the opportunity to meet the assessment requirements.
Additional information
Successful learners will be awarded the ILM Level 5 Award in Leadership and Management but may wish to progress onto the ILM Level 5 Certificate or Diploma in Leadership & Management by adding further units. Or, they can progress onto the ILM Level 7 NVQ Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership.
