Course Overview
This course is for candidates that work or wish to work in a variety of roles that require knowledge of the various construction trades.
You’ll learn basic construction skills and knowledge and undertake various practical and knowledge-based activities.

This course covers small-scale repairs in various trades in the construction sector, for the following trades:
- building repairs (brickwork)
- painting and decorating repairs
- plastering repairs
- plumbing repairs
- carpentry repairs
Practical sessions take place in fully equipped workshops supported by theoretical sessions to provide foundation knowledge and understanding.
You’ll be assessed through practical projects and written assignments and once completed you’ll gain:
- Level 2 Diploma in Maintenance Operations
- Appropriate supporting qualifications to broaden your skill set and meet the needs of industry
- English and Maths
- Skills Activities
To enter the course you will require a minimum of 4 GCSEs grade E or above.
You’ll need to have a desire to work in the construction industry. Full commitment to attendance is required, as is respect for others, enthusiasm for the subject and self-motivation.
Entry into the workplace or progression onto Level 3 study.
