Course Overview

Come and learn to use Adobe Photoshop and its many functions in order to create exciting content for use on websites, social media and more.

…everyone – Photoshop is not just for photographers!

…anyone with an interest in creating their own images from scratch and manipulating photographs

…anyone who just wants to know what Photoshop is and how to use it

Photoshop skills are increasingly useful in a variety of different job roles and this course will leave you with the ability to edit and manipulate photographs effectively and create your own eye-catching images at home or in the workplace. Useful skills if you are looking to enhance your C.V.

Each 2 hour session will introduce a variety of Photoshop features and the techniques to use them. There will then be a classroom task using this technique to produce a practical outcome with individual tutor support.

All images will be supplied for classroom use but you will be actively encouraged to bring in your own images too. It is recommended that you bring a usb stick or portable hard drive to save your finished images to take away.

  • Introduction to the Abode Photoshop interface

  • Image file formats

  • The toolbox

  • Exploring the filter gallery

  • Brushes and how to create your own

  • Actions and Selections

  • Retouching and sharpening images

  • Working with layers and masks

  • Text

  • Saving for use in the web

  • Quick animations

  • Cropping and resizing and cloning

There is no formal assessment on the course.

You will be expected to have a basic knowledge of computers to enrol on the course.

You don’t need any prior knowledge of Adobe Photoshop as this 10 week course starts at the very beginning. By the end of the course you will have a good knowledge of Photoshop techniques and processes.
