Personal Learning Accounts (PLA)

Take advantage of FREE and FLEXIBLE courses in a broad choice of industries

If you’re 19 or over, in a job earning less than £30,596* a year and want to take the next step to a great career, a Personal Learning Account could be just what you’re looking for.

Personal Learning Accounts are free courses that give you new skills and qualifications – ones that local employers are looking for – to help you take advantage of skills shortages and get your career really moving.

Better still, they’re flexible – we aim to meet the needs of the whole group when planning the dates and times to run courses. We do our best to deliver learning to fit around people’s family and work commitments.

*Earn over £30,596?  We have a range of Computing and Net Zero Qualifications which are PLA Fully Funded and have no salary cap.

Please only apply for one course at a time, as if you make multiple applications, only one can be processed.

Even though you may be eligible for funding for more than one Personal Learning Account course, we can only accept one application per person at a time. If an application is successful for a course, you must complete the first course before any more applications can be made.

You will need access to the internet and a laptop/PC in order to complete one of our e-learning or virtual courses. Some courses also require a microphone and webcam. Please check that you have access to the necessary equipment before submitting your application.

To claim a refund for PLA costs such as exam fees, please download this form.

Due to overwhelming demand, we are no longer able to accept applications for PLA funded HGV driver training currently until further notice.
