Course Overview
Designed for professionals with experience in cloud computing, infrastructure management, and virtualization, particularly those working with hybrid cloud environments.
Covers designing secure network architectures, implementing Zero Trust principles, managing identity and access, network monitoring, performance, automation, and troubleshooting.
This course is available as part of a Personal Learning Account (PLA). PLA is an initiative from the Welsh Government which offers people the chance to access free, part-time courses with flexible and convenient learning that fits around their existing lifestyle (subject to eligibility).
… anyone aged 19+, living in Wales and in employment. The usual salary limit of £34,303 does not apply to this course.
… experienced professionals with at least 5 years of experience as a systems, network, cloud network, infrastructure, or enterprise architect.
… anyone with foundational certifications like Network+ and Cloud+ and is aimed at those ready to work with complex enterprise-level hybrid networks.
This course is delivered by virtual classroom. Virtual classrooms are equivalent to face-to-face classroom courses, but delivered in an online environment.

The CompTIA CloudNetX certification is designed to equip IT professionals with foundational knowledge and hands-on skills in cloud computing. This course covers cloud architecture principles, deployment models, security frameworks, and network configurations, ensuring learners gain practical expertise in managing cloud environments.
You will develop critical skills in cloud infrastructure management, including scalability, virtualisation, and automation. A strong focus on security best practices ensures that professionals can safeguard cloud systems against cyber threats. Additionally, you will gain an understanding of compliance, governance, and cost management in cloud ecosystems.
By completing the CompTIA CloudNetX certification, professionals will be prepared to design, implement, and manage cloud solutions that align with business needs, making them valuable assets in the rapidly evolving cloud computing industry.
A minimum of ten years of experience in the IT field and five years of experience in a network architect role, with experience in the hybrid cloud environment. Network+, Security+, and Cloud+ or equivalent experience.
You will need access to internet, a windows computer and webcam/microphone.
The PLA programme intends to provide quality career advice and guidance to participants before, during and after their learning.
Prior to being enrolled onto your PLA funded course, an individual learning plan will be discussed with you to ensure that the right learning has been considered.
This will include a general discussion on the following topics:
- formal education or qualifications in related fields
- prior experience within the industry or field
- career aspirations
- dedication of time required
