Course Overview
Discover the Agile concepts, understand advanced principles and learn how to manage projects more effectively and efficiently with Agile project management methodologies.
The Agile project management framework takes an incremental approach to the build and management processes, and this course will teach you the key concepts of the framework and how to apply them to real-world projects, boosting success rates.
This course is available as part of a Personal Learning Account (PLA). PLA is an initiative from the Welsh Government which offers people the chance to access free, part-time courses with flexible and convenient learning that fits around their existing lifestyle (subject to eligibility).

… anyone who is cross-training for a role in project management and need a qualification to open new employment options
… those who want to better understand their role, improve their knowledge and need proof of their Agile experience
This course is delivered by virtual classroom. Virtual classrooms are equivalent to face-to-face classroom courses, but delivered in an online environment.
Course Duration: 3-days
Throughout the course you will learn the following:
- The underpinning philosophy and principles of Agile
- The lifecycle of an Agile project, including alternative configurations
- The products produced during an Agile project and their purpose
- The techniques used and their benefits and limitations
- The roles and responsibilities within an Agile project
There are no formal requirements, but you’ll need a keen interest in the subject.
You will need access to internet, a windows computer and webcam/microphone.
The PLA programme intends to provide quality career advice and guidance to participants before, during and after their learning.
Prior to being enrolled onto your PLA funded course, a individual learning plan will be discussed with you to ensure that the right learning has been considered.
This will include a general discussion on the following topics:
- formal education or qualifications in related fields
- prior experience within the industry or field
- career aspirations
- dedication of time required
This will also include specific discussion on the below areas for this course:
- any prior experience with the Agile methodology
- experience of working on any projects that utilised Agile practices
- experience with other project management frameworks or methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Scrum, APM)
