Course Overview
There are many potential hazards working on site, and this course provides practical advice on keeping yourself and your colleagues safe. It covers your individual and employer’s responsibilities, including what you can do if you think anyone’s health and safety is being put at risk.
The course is an ideal foundation for those wishing to obtain an industry site card.
…anyone working in the construction and civil engineering industry.
…providing you with the evidence you need to apply for a CSCS Labourer card, alongside the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test.
The course takes place over 1 day and is designed to give you an understanding of:
- the need to prevent accidents
- health and safety law
- how your role fits into the control and management of the site
- risk assessments and method statements
- performing safely and asking for advice
- how to report unsafe acts to prevent an accident
You’ll be assessed on your participation throughout the course, including a 25-question multiple choice exam.
Full attendance is mandatory.
On successful completion, you’ll receive a certificate valid for 5 years.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course however candidates must be competent in English at operative level.
