Course Overview
This Level 3 City & Guilds accredited course builds on the knowledge and skills gained at Level 2. It is ideal for maintenance technicians within engineering environments or those who wish to pursue a career in this area.
You are involved in the maintenance of machining equipment within engineering environments, specifically those that involve the fault investigation and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic mechanisms and systems.
You will learn about:
- Engineering health and safety
- Engineering principles
- Principles of engineering maintenance, installation and commissioning
- Maintenance of machine systems
- Maintenance of hydraulic systems
- Maintenance of pneumatic systems
It is expected that you will approach the learning environment with the mindset of a professional engineer. You will be expected to work safely and with a keen attitude to problem solve and learn.
Following this course you could progress into industry or onto HNC (subject to qualifications and experience)
You will need:
A mechanically biased L2 City and Guilds qualification that ideally has covered hydraulic and pneumatic content. Or, sufficient industry experience and skills to build upon (to be agreed as a qualifying entry requirement by the course leader).
You will be required to wear PPE for all practical aspects of your course during the workshop environment.
