Course Overview
This course is designed to help you undertake various welding techniques and procedures safely, giving you an in-depth understanding of the welding processes, their applications and the equipment, materials and consumables used, so you can work to engineering industry specifications and standards.
Anyone looking at a career in engineering or manufacturing as a welder.
The course covers the Metal Active/Inert Gas Shielding (MAGS/MIGS), Manual Metal Arc (MMA) and Tungsten Active/Inert Gas Shielding (TAGS/TIGS) welding processes. You will need to complete a range of welded joints in various welding positions to the BSEN 4872 welding standard. These welded joints will then undergo various destructive tests before being visually assesses by the assessor.
The course is intended for those aged 19 or over, and while there is no formal entry requirements you should be enthusiastic about fabrication & welding.
You will need to provide your own Personal Protective Equipment (steel toe cap books and fire retardant overalls).
