Entry Requirements
Each application will be considered on an individual basis.
Generally, applicants aged 18-21 years should have a minimum of 3 GCSEs (grade C or above) which include English or Welsh, Mathematics or a Science subject. As well as a L3 qual such as a BTEC National Diploma or A levels that are equivalent or higher than 48 UCAS points.

Mature students (aged 21+) are welcomed, and applications will be dealt with on an individual basis. Whilst no formal qualifications are required, an interest in the subject and a committed desire to learn is essential.

The B.A. Audio Production and Songwriting qualification is aimed at students who want to focus on audio production and songwriting.
You’ll learn about all aspects of the music industry from composition and song writing to studio production and film composition and sound.

What will I be doing?
You’ll be taught by experienced professionals, undertake real projects and take part in workshops with visiting artists.
You will develop transferable skills and knowledge to help learners progress in a music field of their choice.
You will become a graduate that will enhance the music scene in Wales, contributing with a variety of different disciplines.
You will study the following modules:
Studio Production : Technical Proficiency in the studio.
Songwriting : To develop songwriting skills and techniques.
Film Composition & Sound : To develop skills in Composing / Foley for Film.
The Music Collaborator : To develop collaborative and networking skills.
You will be using our state of the art recording studios which include the Audient HE8024 desk, full selection of Neumann microphones including dummy head binaural recording.
Our post production suite includes a Foley room with full sound to picture capabilities, high end DAW facilities and an extensive selection of analogue electronic music instruments.
Our studios are also equipped with the Steven Slate Raven MTI2 touch screen mixing console.
Our selection of amp heads and cabs include Soldano 100w slo, Vox AC30 and Marshall JCM 900.
What is expected of me?
Applicants may be asked to attend an interview, take part in a workshop session, or present a portfolio of work as part of the selection process.
Full commitment to attendance is required, as well as respect for others, enthusiasm for the subject, self-motivation, creative ability and a desire to succeed.
