The aim of this qualification is to increase the learner’s knowledge and awareness of children and young people’s mental health.

This course is for...

...anyone wanting to gain and build knowledge of mental health in children and young people.

...those wanting to progress onto further qualifications

...those already working in roles which require you to work with children and young people, including the education and health and social care sector.

Course content

To achieve this qualification, learners are required to successfully complete all 5 mandatory units, which include:

  1. Children and young people’s mental health in context

  1. Factors which may affect children and young people’s mental health

  1. Children and young people’s mental health concerns

  1. The impact of children and young people’s mental health concerns

  1. How to support children and young people with mental health concerns

 

There is no placement requirement for this course.

(In this qualification, children and young people refers to an age range of 5 to 18 years old.)

Learners should be at least 19 years old.
