In a nutshell
There are many potential hazards working on site, and this course provides practical advice on keeping yourself and your colleagues safe. It covers your individual and employer’s responsibilities, including what you can do if you think anyone’s health and safety is being put at risk.
This course is for...
…anyone working in the construction and civil engineering industry
…providing you with the evidence you need to apply for a CSCS labourer / green card, alongside the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test
The course takes place over 1 day (7 hours), and is designed to give you an understanding of:
- the need to prevent accidents
- health and safety law
- how your role fits into the control and management of the site
- risk assessments and method statements
- performing safely and asking for advice
- how to report unsafe acts to prevent an accident
You’ll be assessed through multiple-choice questions, and your level of interaction during the course.
There are no formal entry requirements.
A natural next step on completion would be to progress onto the Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) course.
