is looking for someone to fill a voluntary role that can change lives - a Board member
at Coleg Gwent, one of the top performing colleges in the country.
Governance Officer Marie Carter said: “The Board is responsible for setting the educational character of the College, ensuring that we meet our strategic objectives and securing our long term sustainability. Our Vision
is to be THE College of Choice and as a Governor you’ll play a key part in achieving this goal.
“We are looking for an individual who is or has been, a successful senior manager, business professional or entrepreneur. Preferably the person will be based in or around South Wales, with a good understanding of the regional economy. Most importantly, they should be ambitious, innovative, have the ability to operate at a strategic level and are passionate about education and skills,” added Marie.
The Board needs a mix of skills and experience and currently the college particularly wants to hear from candidates if they have a background in digital technologies, manufacturing, health and care, legal profession or marketing and PR,” added Marie.
Governors are expected to be committed, to prepare for and contribute to, monthly Board meetings, as well as termly committee meetings and strategy seminars. In return, Governors are part of an exciting organisation and have an impact on the lives of Coleg Gwent’s learners and their communities.
