This course brings together creative photographic skills and academic study, including digital imaging and industry led projects. It is structured to provide a wide range of photographic skills and, at the same time, develop the creative and technological skills essential for today's modern photographer.
The course will reinforce your practical potential through a sound knowledge of the history of photography and an awareness of contemporary developments in the medium. The contextual elements of the course also encourage you to think critically about photography and its impact on culture and society.
The course is delivered through a combination of workshops, lectures, tutorials and work based learning.
This course will equip you with the skills, knowledge and experience for a career in photography or BA Creative Industries Photography programme.
You would usually need at least one of the following:
Plus: GCSE passes in three subjects at grade C or above to include Maths and English Language (or equivalent).
You will be expected to purchase a good quality digital SLR camera with SD card. Throughout the year you will need to provide display materials such as sketchbooks and portfolios. You will also need to purchase your own prints.
Applicants may be asked to attend an interview, take part in a workshop session, or present a portfolio of work as part of the selection process.
