Course Overview
Crochet for intermediate is designed to challenge those who have some basic crochet skills and are looking to improve and develop them to the next level.
You’ll look at more technical stiches such as Popcorn, Butterfly and Shell stitches, you will also look at corner to corner and more complex patterns.
This course will enable you to learn new complex patterns, intricate stitches and techniques.
…anyone with an interest in developing their crochet skills to an intermediate level.
Topics covered will be:
- Recap on basic stiches
- More complex stitches
- Corner to corner design
- Finishing stitches (invisible join)
- Edging
Attendance at each session and some practice of the skills learnt at home. The course includes informal assessment and verbal feedback from your tutor in the classroom. You will need to bring your own crochet hooks and wool. Extra materials can be purchased from your tutor if required. You will be advised of this at your first session.
Other non-qualification courses.
There are no formal entry requirements just an interest in the subject. You should have an understanding of:
- How to crochet
- Double crochet
- Treble crochet
- Increase and decrease
During week 1 you will be provided with chunky knit yarn and a 6mm crochet hook. The items below will be required for subsequent lessons and discussed during the sessions:
- Various sized crochet hooks
- Double knit and chunky yarns in various materials
- Tapestry needle (or equivalent) for sewing projects/weaving in ends
A few more items may need to be purchased during the course.
