Course Overview
An apprenticeship in Engineering Technical Support is a 2 year course where you are employed and attend college 1 day/week.
Technical Support Technicians work as part of a team to provide technical support and expertise for all areas of the Engineering and Manufacturing function. It starts with building foundation skills in engineering disciplines before focusing on skills, knowledge and behaviours required to be a successful Technical Support Technician.
Technical training is provided in the college 1 day per week, including time in practical workshops.

Theory-based tasks and tests
5 GCSEs at grade C or above including a C in English or Welsh Language and a B in Maths, along with three other Cs (preferably Science or related subjects), or to have successfully completed an appropriate Level 2 qualification with a Merit profile. More mature learners will be considered based on entry qualifications and/or your experience.
A Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Engineering Technical Support is completed in the workplace. The Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Technologies or BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Engineering is completed part-time at the College.
