Learners should be able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups.
Learners are required to attend lessons on a Monday 09:00am – 4:30pm on the following dates: 15th Feb, 08th Mar, 12th Apr, 03rd May, 24th May, 21st Jun, and 28th Jun with the requirement to complete a further 6hrs on the interim weeks which can be completed online or on campus.
This qualification can lead to further training at the same and/or higher levels in a range of related disciplines. For example, YMCA Level 4 Certificate in Weight Management for Individuals with Obesity, Diabetes Mellitus and/or Metabolic Syndrome.
No prerequisites are needed for the course, however, good numeracy skills are advised and an interest in health and wellbeing.
This course is designed to support those currently working within industry or looking to further develop their professional knowledge and skills. Delivery combines on-campus practical sessions with flexible blended learning, allowing you to develop your expertise alongside work and other commitments.
You will be required to attend campus on a Monday 09:00am – 4:30pm on the following dates: 15th Feb, 08th Mar, 12th Apr, 03rd May, 24th May, 21st Jun, and 28th Jun for in-person teaching, practical sessions, and skill development workshops.
A further 7.5 hrs of learning is timetabled on the remaining Mondays plus an additional hour every Wednesday 09:00 – 10:00. These sessions will be delivered through a flexible blended approach, which may include live online teaching using a range of communication technologies, workshop sessions, industry-based activities, portfolio development and on-campus support where required.
